Agronomist - Sustainable Farming & Feedstock Upcycling

We are seeking a dedicated Agronomist to join our Feedstock Programs Team on-site in Adeiso as we build, execute, and scale our sustainable feedstock operations and pilot demonstrator projects.

We need someone who is open-minded, curious, hard-working, and deeply committed to environmental sustainability and leveraging digital tools for efficiency gains and field monitoring. Verifeed and AfriSAF are not just technical or agricultural projects: they bridge agriculture, sustainability, certification, geospatial tracking, and real-world operations.

What matters most is not a fixed number of years of experience, but the right mindset, strong values, and a genuine passion for sustainable farming. The ideal candidate should be able to think beyond traditional agronomy, understand why we are building geospatial monitoring, traceable supply chains, and act as the key domain link translating field realities into actionable digital requirements for our geospatial monitoring module.

• Pilot Operations & Field Research: Manage, monitor, and analyse pilot demonstrator projects on-site, including controlled environment/greenhouse farming and inedible oil crop trials (such as castor oil).
• Waste & Residue Valorisation: Investigate and execute practical methods for processing, treating, and upcycling local agricultural waste and residues (such as Palm Oil Mill Effluent - POME) into valuable supply chain inputs.
• Agronomy & Field Testing: Collect, track, and interpret crop health, yield, and soil health data to build robust agronomic profiles for sustainable feedstocks.
• Geospatial & Tech Integration: Collaborate directly with the Verifeed engineering team to define requirements for crop tracking, field data capture, geospatial mapping, and supply chain monitoring modules.
• Sustainability & Certification Support: Assist in research and field implementation aligned with international sustainability certification standards (e.g., ISCC, RSB) for feedstock traceability.
• Structured Problem Solving: Tackle agronomic, logistical, and field challenges with analytical thinking and data-backed methods.

We are looking for someone who:

• Puts Sustainability First: Cares deeply about environmental stewardship, regenerative practices, and building clean supply chains for Africa's bioeconomy.
• Driven by Mindset & Values: Believes that attitude, curiosity, and high integrity are just as important as technical qualifications.
• Thinks Beyond the Field: Connects agronomic trials with broader goals like carbon reduction, bioeconomy growth, and traceable supply chains.
• Is a Problem Solver: Approaches field variables and operational challenges with a practical, analytical mindset.
• Communicates Openly & Transparently: Shares challenges, asks questions, and collaborates constructively across technical and field teams.
• Is a Fast Learner: Eager to master complex topics spanning soil science, biofuel feedstocks, carbon intensity, and supply chain risk.
• Is Adaptable & Resilient: Comfortable working on-site in an agile startup environment where pilot learnings continually refine our priorities.
• Is Mission-Driven & Grounded: Humble, hard-working, and genuinely motivated to build meaningful solutions for Africa's sustainable future.

A strong attitude, genuine willingness to learn, and alignment with our sustainability mission are far more important than a specific degree title or length of CV. We welcome applicants with backgrounds or demonstrated interest in:

• Agriculture / Agronomy / Crop Science / Agricultural Engineering
• Sustainable Energy / Environmental Science / Natural Resource Management
• Bio-processing / Chemistry / Bio-waste Management
• Data Collection, Geospatial Tools (GIS/GPS), or AgTech applications

AfriSAF is building sustainable feedstock supply chains across Africa, supported by Verifeed, our proprietary digital platform for traceability, monitoring, certification preparation, and supply chain risk management. We are deploying innovative agricultural practices to power the sustainable transition across energy, aviation, and industrial sectors.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of technology, sustainable agriculture, and real-world operations in Ghana. You will gain hands-on ownership of greenhouse sustainable farming, industrial feedstock development, and digital supply chain integration. You will actively help build tools and practices that support more transparent, reliable, and sustainable supply chains across Africa and beyond.
